The sophomore ambassadors attract over a thousand fans to Taiwan tourism bureau's tour packages
We're not choosing sides, but replacing F4 with the younger, handsome foursome of Fahrenheit is a sure money-spinning move.
Returning for a second stint as Taiwan's tourism ambassadors to Korea and Japan, boyband Fahrenheit topped themselves by bringing in approximately NT$45 million (S$2 million) in a single appearance at Fulong, Taiwan.
The tourism bureau dropped tradition and organized a massive outdoor barbecue party for fans this year, with Fahrenheit as guests, and the group will also lead a tour to Hualien in October.
The refreshing concept was too good to resist and more than 1,000 participants signed up for the tour packages.
With this event, the singer-actors, consisting Wu Chun, Aaron Yan, Calvin Chen and Jiro Wang, also crushed criticism that they had earned endorsement fees of NT$8 million (S$350,000) last year for just lending their faces to the campaign.
Aaron fought with mum just before Mothers' Day
Sunday was Mothers' Day, which prompted many fans to bring their mums along for the outdoor event on the following day.
How did Fahrenheit celebrate theirs?
Jiro revealed that he had previously brought his mum on a holiday to Shanghai. For Calvin, as he was working, he could only make up for his absence from his family dinner by picking up the tab afterwards.
But not all was peaceful on this annual affair.
Just before Sunday, the baby of the bunch Aaron had quarreled with his mum after she altered the position of his fengshui crystal. He has since, however, made up to her by buying her a Chanel bag.
Wu Chun's mother passed away many years ago and he said that the occasion only makes him miss her more.
