FITNESS Zone shows no sign of slowing down as it plans to expand its growing health club with improved services and more equipment, Managing Director Goh Kiat Chun said.
In an interview with The Brunei Times, Goh, who is also an actor more popularly known as Wu Chun, said that he had "big resolutions" for his company, which currently has two branches.
"The business is doing great and, this time, I am able to come back for the longest break I ever had in my show biz career. I have got big resolutions for Fitness Zone in 2012 and everything is going according to plan," he said.
The health club is currently powered by Technogym, a leading provider for gym equipment based in Italy, according to a statement.
With around 55,000 installations worldwide in over 35,000 wellness centres, Goh ensures that Fitness Zone is on par with international standards.
Setting a higher benchmark for the local fitness industry, Goh plans to equip Fitness Zone with new equipment from Technogym to complete the health club's current range of equipment. He says the investment is justified as he believes Technogym is the "Ferrari of all gym equipment".
With 3,200 active members in its Kiulap and Serusop branches, Fitness Zone aims to attract more people to join its health club with ongoing promotions.
Goh remarked that it is equally important for Fitness Zone to keep all its current members.
"Some of our Bruneian members give up easily, but we are trying to get them back. It's such a waste because you are almost there (in terms of reaching fitness goals). I think we can change their lives," Goh explained.
Throughout the year, Fitness Zone will be relaunching the Les Mills programme to the public, which offers a variety of movements such as dancing, weight lifting, martial arts and athletics-inspired exercises.
"I always believe that maybe in five years' time, I can change a lot of the way Bruneians think in terms of living towards a healthy lifestyle. Many people take life for granted, but you really have to take care of your own health," he said.
Fitness Zone is a health club that was founded in 2003 by Goh. Over 8,000 people have joined the gym since it opened its doors to the public.
