WU CHUN yesterday revealed that during the filming of the finale for the epic movie ‘Saving General Yang’, he swallowed about a bowl of sand every day while filming in the desert due to the strong winds.
Wu Chun who attended the Charity Movie Night for movie ‘Saving General Yang’ was speaking to the local media on the toughest challenge during filming.
“In the filming of the finale, I was fighting against the enemy. Although the scene was two minutes, it took 10 days to complete. Every day I was eating, like, one bowl of sand because we were filming in the desert and it was so windy. So whenever we opened our mouth, the sand would go into our mouth. There was no choice but to swallow the sand,” he said.
He jokingly added, “I might have shortened my life by one year by filming the movie.”
To be more realistic, the stunts were done by the actors themselves and there were many dangerous scenes where the actors, including Wu Chun, had to complete the stunts.
Recalling one of the scenes, he said, “All the Yang’s sons were riding their horses in front of hundreds of horses and if anyone had fallen, the horses would have stomped on him.”
Before the movie started shooting, he said, “We were trained on horse riding before the movie for one-and-a-half months and I have become an expert in horse riding now.
“I am studying some scripts for other movies but currently I am in the process of completing a book, a biography which will be released in August this year,” he replied when asked about future plans. “It’s about my life and what I went through as well as how I overcame my problems,” he added.
