IT WAS a weekend of fun and exercise at Fitness Zone, as women of all ages convened at the health club for its Mothers' Day special.

A special session called "Gift of Love" was held yesterday, where Fitness Zone Managing Director and international celebrity Wu Chun turned up, bringing carnations and a cake for its members who are mothers.

A total of 20 mothers were present for the session, who, according to Fitness Zone, have been members of the club for the past 10 years. Each "pioneer mother member" also received a one-month membership gift certificate.

"The gift of good health is one of the best gifts to give on Mothers' Day. We hear the saying, 'health is wealth' many times, and believe me, it is never too late to start," said Chun.

"I believe every child would like to see their mother grow stronger and healthier as they age. Quality of life is so important nowadays, and that is why I want to bring in different varieties of programmes, so that these mothers can have fun while getting fit and healthy."

Fitness Zone 10-year member Wendy is a mother. She said, "The Fitness Zone coaches taught us that we are in control, that we are responsible for everything that we do and the life we create for ourselves."

"Exercise is now one way for me to release stress. At the end of the workout, I feel fantastic knowing that I have done something healthy and positive for myself."

Chun went on to say that events like these are close to his heart as it reminds him of his late mother. He also reminded mothers everywhere to constantly keep their health a priority.

"Prevention is always better than cure. Give yourself a chance to try out the programmes Fitness Zone can offer you.

Fitness Zone is offering a two-week promotion, which is a special membership for mothers for just $30 for the whole month of May. All the income from this promotion will go towards one of Fitness Zone's staff members, who is a mother currently undergoing cancer treatment.
