Wu Chun, Brunei's very first homegrown superstar, and co-star Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin aka "Ah Sa", are expected to arrive in Brunei Darussalam on Oct 16 to promote the movie "Butterfly Lovers".

Wu Chun will return on the earliest flight from Singapore on Oct 16 and depart for Kuala Lumpur on Oct 17, according to event organiser, GreenCity Concept Sdn Bhd.

Ah Sa, one of the members of Twins, a popular Hong Kong pop duo, will be arriving on Oct 16 via Hong Kong and departing Oct 17.

Sheikh Jamaluddin Sheikh Mohammad, CEO of Brunei Tourism Board, complimented Wu Chun for his efforts in promoting Brunei Darussalam. With the newly released movie, the name and image of Brunei Darussalam will grow even bigger, he said. " I was really surprised to see how good Wu Chun acted in his first big screen movie."

"I love the kung fu scene that Wu Chun did and the comedy part by Harlem Yu and Charlene Choi. With the big screen debut, I foresee that Wu Chun will be an even bigger star," said Sheikh Jamaluddin.

Among the sponsors for Wu Chun and Ah Sa's trips to Brunei Darussalam are RBA and Empire Hotel and Country Club

Local fans who watch "Butterfly Lovers", which premiered yesterday, will have a chance to meet both superstars in a meet the fans session at Empire theatre on the evening of Oct 16.

Moviegoers are eligible to attend the session by keeping the movie tickets.

With the cooperation of the Mall's Cineplex, $1 dollar from each ticket will be contributed to SMARTER Brunei during the charity movie event from Oct 9 to 29.

On Wednesday night, invited guests, families of Wu Chun and Sheikh Jamaluddin Sheikh Mohammad, and media personnel attended a sneak premiere of " Butterfly Lovers".
