Now it's difficult to say if he's a local celebrity or a foreign celebrity. But he is a great ambassador and an icon for Brunei to the other parts of the world. Who would have thought a local boy being more famous in other countries than in Brunei. Yes, he still have a great following in Brunei but not as fanatic as his overseas fans who would even traveled to other parts of the world, just to see him.. If I were to do that, then Scarlett Johansson will be my target LOL.
Wu Chun is currently in Brunei to take time off for CNY. He recently had interviews by the local press and I have yet to spoken to him. The last I saw him was when he was in Brunei promoting "Butterfly Lovers". According to the interview recently, he plans to organise more charity events especially for his movies. He wants to donate the proceeds to Haiti.
According to the China box office, 14 Blades have raked in $8.7 million in the box office. So that's a great start for Wu Chun's 2nd movie outing though Donnie Yen (Ip man guy) is the main actor. Oh yeah, apparently Wu Chun played the baddie role which fans will have to get use to it.
So what's next for Wu Chun? More on filming but he's unsure if it's gonna be a television series or a feature film. His band, Fahrenheit, will be releasing a new album in August 2010. I wish you good luck buddy and all the best. Happy New Year. And for those who wants to read his bog, you can click here.
