PROVING that wealth and health go hand in hand, the first licensed financial consultant company in Brunei had teamed up with a well-known local gym to improve the quality of life through financial planning.

With license to act as an Investment Adviser, GoodLife Financial Planning sought partnership with Fitness Zone in creating a programme tailored to instil a savings culture among Bruneians and to help Bruneians plan for a better future by saving early.

Themed "Health is wealth, exercise for health and save for wealth", the programme also hopes to encourage more Bruneians to be health conscious.

According to Ang Kian Guan, Principal Consultant at GoodLife Financial Planning, the company provides free consultation to the public in offering financial solutions to improve the quality of life.

"In Brunei, we do not realise the need to save for the future. (So) My job is to help you save for the future, help you to plan, such as with education planning, retirement plans, and wealth management, among the many services," said Ang.

Ang said that with Fitness Zone as its chosen health partner, Fitness Zone celebrity owner, Wu Chun, will be able to raise Bruneians' awareness for an improved quality of life by being fit and healthy.

Speaking to the media, Wu Chun said: "Health is very important. Health comes before wealth."

On the role of Fitness Zone as the health partner, Wu Chun informed that the main objective is to improve the quality of life.

"We are not just introducing a healthy lifestyle. What we want is to teach our members to lead (a healthy) life, to be involved in charity such as (the) tree planting activity and blood donation drive we had done earlier," he said.

"With their (GoodLife Financial Planning) clients, they will have a programme (conducted) at our health club. They will do their financial planning (consultations) and health programme at the same time," said Wu Chun.

"If you combine these two together (wealth and health), it will be a powerful (combination)," the Fitness Zone proprietor stressed.

With Wu Chun present to launch the consultant company website, about 150 people comprising both Fitness Zone members and Goodlife Financial Planning customers, family and friends attended the event yesterday at Fitness Zone Kiulap branch.
