Brunei -- Singer Wu Chun will spend a 30-minute fitness session each with two fans after an auction to raise money for Filipino victims of Typhoon Washi.

The Brunei-born star on Thursday agreed to help the Tulong Mindanao Charity Auction and Bazaar, a fundraiser initiated by news daily The Brunei Times. Organizers are auctioning “Thirty Minutes of Personal Gym Training Time with Wu Chun in Brunei” and “A Thirty-Minute One-on-One Basketball Session with Wu Chun in Brunei.”

Tulong Mindanao organizers in Brunei opened the bidding for these two auction lots on Thursday, April 5, 2012 via its Facebook fanpage http://facebook.com/TulongMindanao. Online bidding closes at 2 p.m. (Brunei time) on Sunday, April 8.

Rachel Thien, a member of the Tulong Mindanao working committee, said organizers decided to hold online bidding for these two auction lots to allow Wu Chun fans in several countries to participate.

The singer who runs Fitness Zone, a chain of fitness gym clubs in Brunei, said this would be the first time he would be providing personal fitness training and a one-on-one basketball session with fans.

“By doing this, I am trying to educate people about the importance of having a healthy lifestyle,” he said.

He said he readily accepted the invite to get involved in the Tulong Mindanao fundraiser as he found it to be “something very different.”

“This auction is very interesting and it is great because it is for a good cause,” said Wu Chun, who was with popular Taiwanese boyband Fahrenheit from 2005 to 2011. “It is good to look into (various avenues) on how we can help Washi victims and raise funds.”

Wu Chun is known to be active in Brunei's fitness scene and in raising funds for the needy. Just two months ago, Fitness Zone also held its own fundraiser for Filipino victims of Typhoon Washi.

On Sunday, April 8, Tulong Mindanao will also auction off other items for those who attend the charity event in Brunei. All proceeds of the fundraiser will be handed over to the National Humanitarian Fund for Philippine Storm Victims set up by Brunei's Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
