FITNESS Zone has once again stepped up efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle but this time, through chasing the speed of ‘sharing’ via their new iPad app, which was launched yesterday by the fitness centre and MeSixty, a local mobile app developer, at their Kiulap branch.
The guest of honour was the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Datin Paduka Hajah Adina binti Othman.
The app, built by MeSixty, was created to showcase Fitness Zone’s focus on high quality and their design-first approach to app development.
The free application includes an opening video featuring Brunei’s very own international star Wu Chun, and is the first video filmed and produced completely by MeSixty and the first directed by Chun, exclusively for the app.
“Since 2003, Fitness Zone (FZ) has always kept up with the pace in terms of the latest and most popular fitness programmes or state-of-the-art equipment available around the world. But today, we are making a difference by sharing healthy and life-changing information anytime, anywhere with the FZ app,” Wu Chun shared.
The FZ app offers users with information they could possibly need with regards to Fitness Zone programmes, classes, facilities, news, schedules and health tips, all of which is neatly packaged in an app inspired by the look and feel of the upcoming newly renovated Fitness Zone health club.
Wu Chun added, “As technology is becoming more sophisticated, the health and fitness industry is also responding to the increasing popularity of technological innovations.”
This, he said, allows what is truly a “flexible and enjoyable” learning experience for Fitness Zone, not only to inform and connect with their members but to also educate and motivate them with just a few taps on their iPad.
Nadia Yahya, the Art Director for MeSixty and lead designer of the FZ app was quoted as saying, “When designing the app, we wanted to capture the look of Fitness Zone while making it easy to use.”
The app includes photos, videos and detailed information about classes and facilities as well as regularly updated class schedules and the Fitness Zone blog. It also allows users to read real testimonials written by other members describing their various experiences.
Wu Chun said, “We are so glad to work with the best mobile app developer in our country, MeSixty especially the man behind the company who invented numerous inspiring ideas for the FZ app, Keeran Janin.”
The event was held in conjunction with the recent launch of the brand new Les Mills fitness programme. Those who wish to obtain the free app can do so by downloading it from the iTunes app store for the iPad Retina and iPad Mini.
Fitness Zone is also giving away free two weeks membership and a FZ shoe bag to the first 30 customers who download the app on their iPad and present it at any one of their health clubs.
