Singing, dancing and exercising are some of the best ways for youths to stay away from negative activities like drug abuse. It is also a good way to live a healthy lifestyle.
Wu Chun, Brunei born star and a member of Taiwan's well-known boy band 'Fahrenheit', gave tips to 18 finalists of the 'Paspot to Fame' or P2F 2010 during a training session held at the Fitness Zone yesterday afternoon.
Supporting P2F's initiative, Wu Chun said, "I support what P2F is trying to do here. They are nurturing local talents. We need more efforts like this to promote local artistes and launch Brunei's talents on the international stage. Therefore, I feel that the government maybe able to provide more opportunities and support for local artistes to be on the stage."
Relating to his own experience, he said, "When I first started off with 'Fahrenheit', I was so nervous and shocked on stage. I managed to overcome my nerves with more exposure on stage."
During the duration of the P2F, the contestants will be getting free sessions to tune up at Fitness Zone to gear up for the competition.
The contestants will also learn a few dance moves in the Next Element fitness session.
Wu Chun said, "Being an artiste, it is always important to stay healthy and fit, so that you can build your stamina and stability in performance. Regular exercises are the best option."
Over 18 finalists of the current P2F season had the opportunity to meet the star and obtain fitness tips as well as words of advice on how to handle the pressure of being an artiste. The finalists were also shown a couple of dance steps from a Bruneian dance group, Next Element.
Over 400 hopefuls auditioned for P2F, Brunei's first singing TV programme since 2005, and the field was narrowed down to 18 contestants. Their first 'live' concert will be held at RTB Sungai Akar at 8pm on March 20. The grand prize for the winner of P2F 2010 is a brand new Toyota Avanza.
In addition, the management announced that the first two concerts will be held at RTB Sungkai Akar but the following concerts will be held at RTB's Dewan Raya in the capital.
Fitness Zone has been a loyal supporter of P2F and once again this year Fitness Zone is one of the sponsors of the reality TV programme.
The entrance for the concert is free for the public and the limited seating is based on a first-come-first-serve policy. The concert will also be telecast on RTB2 every Saturday at the same time.
