Bidding begins for personal training, 1-on-1 basketball sessions

CELEBRITY actor, singer and fitness guru Wu Chun has jumped on the Tulong Mindanao wagon by auctioning off a personal 30-minute training session, as well as a 30-minute one-on-one basketball session for his fans.

Wu Chun, who is the managing director of Fitness Zone, has also sponsored 10 one-month membership packages at the fitness centre including registration and membership fees for the upcoming auction.

Initiated by The Brunei Times, organised by Prismworks Event Management and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and the Filipino Association in Brunei, the charity event for the benefit of Typhoon Washi victims in the Philippines will auction brand-new items donated by generous sponsors.

All proceeds of the fundraiser will be handed over to the National Humanitarian Fund for Philippines Storm Victims set up by the MCYS.

Wu Chun said in an interview yesterday that he agreed to come on board for the charity auction because he is always keen on being active in charity, noting that just two months ago, Fitness Zone also had a fundraising event for Washi victims.

He said the Tulong Mindanao charity auction was something very different, and would be the first time he would be providing personal training and a one-on-one basketball session.

"This auction is very interesting and it is great because it is for a good cause. It is good to look into (various avenues) on how we can help Washi victims and fundraising," he said.

Wu Chun said it is important that although fundraising through various activities have been ongoing for over three months now for Washi victims, he said it is very important that people do not forget about the impact of the calamity suffered by those in Mindanao.

"Even if the incident has happened past a year, people should still come together and help those in need," he said.

The celebrity said it is imperative that awareness continue to be be carried out through donations for Washi victims, among others, from time to time.

He said he offered to auction off personal training and a basketball session to promote a healthy lifestyle among society.

"By doing this, I am trying to educate people about the importance of having a healthy lifestyle."

Online bidding has already begun for Wu Chun fans, including those from abroad, and anyone who is interested.
