Wu Chun tries out the kinesis equipment


A rising number of youths in the country are taking the first step towards living a healthy lifestyle by working out in the gyms. A health-conscious generation will not only ensure a healthy society but also reduce the medical expenses of individuals, companies and also the government by staying fit and healthy.

This observation was made by Wu Chun, a locally born Asian super star in his interview on Thursday after he revealed that there was an increasing number of people visiting Fitness Zone branches. It now has more than 4,000 members in Brunei.

"I feel that people are really getting conscious of living a healthy lifestyle and in fitness zone, our motto is based on a family and friendly environment. Most of the members feel that fitness zone is their second home.

"Currently, the fitness trend covers the general public from children to adults. Children from as young as eight years old like to join our dancing classes such as body jam since they are too young to work out in the gym," he said.

With the Serusop fitness zone branch, Wu Chun highlighted that the gym now has techno kinesis equipments which are used by F1 Ferrari drivers towards building wellness. It's suited best for senior individuals to strengthen their joints."

Since the soft opening of the Serusop Fitness Zone last month, it has already recorded 800 new members. Wu Chun has also brought Fitness Zone to the international scene when he opened a 'Wu Chun Dojo' fitness gym.

He revealed that there is a lot of interest generated overseas to buy over the Fitness Zone franchise. Some of the interested parties are from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.

However, he said, "Currently, I don't have time to really get into franchising because I will need to spend a lot of time and effort on the designs and equipments of the Fitness Zone branches. If I really want to venture into franchising, I may have to quit the entertainment industry. In addition, I also want to safeguard the reputation."

To make sure the public gets the latest fitness programme, Wu Chun said, "We are always trying to bring in the latest and most popular fitness classes to Brunei. So we are not left behind. I am also adding new instructors who are committed and passionate in their work."
